NORTHWEST District Report Angie Huber, PT, DPT – Co-Chair
ELECTIONS ARE COMING UP FOR THE NORTHWEST DISTRICT!
Elections are coming up for the Northwest District. Two positions will be up for nomination, including Nominating Chairperson and Membership Chairperson. If you are interested
in any position or have a nomination, please reach out to our current Nominating Chairperson, Allison Durham.
What does the rest of 2022 look like for the district? NW district is planning an End of Summer CE Program and Morning Wake Up Walk to provide a CE event and help raise funds for the Political Action Committee (PAC). What better way to start the morning than a 7:30 AM walk around the Owens Community College campus,
followed by refreshments and a CE event!
The CE event is titled Anterior Cruciate Ligament Injury - Current Concepts in Diagnosis, Treatment and Returning to Sport. Two other CE opportunities are in the works, including a fall pelvic floor presentation and the Owens Student Research Forum in December. We hope to see you there!
Are you interested in presenting a CE program for
the district? Do you know someone who would be interested, or have an idea for a presentation? Want to help plan CE programs for the district? We welcome your suggestions for continuing education topics and presenters we encourage you to email Education Chair Sean McBride with your ideas.
Until next time friends!

The Northeast District is looking forward to a great end of 2022. We will be completing our PT Day of Service in October. In November we will be having our Strategic Planning Meeting and in December, we will be hosting our 10th Annual Marilyn Mount Case Report Night. We are continuing to grow as a group, and I look forward to having more involvement from students from our local schools and area PTs and PTAs. I am looking forward to seeing this year goes and how we can grow as a District in 2023.
We continue to update our Facebook page with updated information including events and CEUs so make sure to join the page and keep checking back for updates. Until then take care and be safe.

We hope you are enjoying the warm Ohio weather and taking some time to have some fun! The Northwest District kicked off the first half of 2022 with several events and activities. In February, we invited clinicians to a free CE event, The University of Findlay’s Research Forum, where clinicians gained insights into new research in an online format. In April, the district sponsored a Student Advocacy Day to give PT and PTA students a space to meet and discuss current legislative issues. Later in May, clinicians were invited to a CE presentation titled Beating Burnout and Building Resilience: Strategies to Succeed that was well-attended!

WE'RE GROWING!
We hope that you are enjoying 2022 so far. The Northeast District has been working to enhance our group involvement with the return of in- person meetings and the beginning of our CEU events. We are looking forward to seeing many of you in person again.
As a district, we had a PT Pub Night at Saucy Brew Works in Cleveland. We had a great turnout with board members, students, and our local colleagues. We were appreciative of your support and look forward to many more of these in the future.
