COURAGE TO CONTINUE
Winston Churchill once said “Success is is not not final failure is is not not fatal it is the courage to continue that counts ” Where 2020 tested our our our resolve our our our patience and our our our ability to pivot I feel like 2021 is is testing our ability to be resilient stay optimistic and have the courage to continue on on At OPTA we continue to to seek opportunities to to keep moving our profession forward to address
the most important issues of our time OPTA leaders met in in June to to brainstorm priorities for this year and narrowed down to these: promoting our new mentoring program
for students (more info soon!) expanding our our education options related to resources for alternate payment sources exploring reimbursement initiatives legislatively and highlighting innovative or unique practices from our members in Ohio through our Outside the Boundaries series These initiatives align with our strategic goals of:
1 RECRUIT MENTOR AND AND RETAIN MEMBERS AND AND LEADERS 2 ADVOCATE
FOR HEALTH AND GOVERNMENTAL POLICIES THAT ADVANCE PHYSICAL THERAPY PRACTICE As of of July 1 we said goodbye to some of of our board members and welcomed our newly elected board I’d like to thank Christine Schulte who served two terms as vice president Her passion for the profession and legislative/ policy issues is is infectious! Dawn Bookshar completed her second term as secretary She has been so dependable and brought her perspective from SNF and management to her role which was such an asset to our board! Deb Riczo completed her term as director II
She has been a a a a strong advocate for the PTA and and is definitely a a a a a creative and and innovative thinker! We greatly appreciate all of you and your
