would like to introduce myself as your new Interim State Fire Marshal. I have served as the SFM Chief Deputy
since August 2016, and prior to that, I
spent the past decade as Fire Chief at
Granville Township in Licking County.
I have a tremendous passion for fire and EMS services and have served several central Ohio departments in my 34-year career.
It is an honor to take the reins at SFM from recently retired Marshal Flowers. He had an amazing career of 47 years of public service, and was a great champion for Ohio’ fire service. Marshal Flowers leaves a legacy of servant leadership, customer service, and visibility. I certainly plan to carry that into the future and look forward to developing relationships with all of you across the state.
Our talented leadership staff will continue to conduct business without interruption. Our team is working diligently to complete the 2017 Ohio Fire Code; the Ohio Fire Academy is working hard to expand course offerings across the state; and our other bureaus continue to manage code compliance, education and investigation duties across the state. We are fortunate to have an extremely capable management team and staff, who are all deeply committed to providing service in the best possible manner to Ohio’s fire service, businesses and residents.
It is an honor and a privilege to serve you as Ohio Interim State Fire Marshal. I look forward to working with each of you in my new role. Please feel free to reach out to me if we can be of assistance, and please stay safe!
