OFCA Retires from Jerome

hief Scott Skeldon began his fire service career in 1978 with the Jefferson Township Fire Department as a volunteer/part-time firefighter, a position he retains today. From 1984-2000, he was a firefighter with the Norwich Township
Fire Department. In addition, from 1992-1999, Skeldon served the Jerome Township Fire Department as a part-time Assistant Chief. In 2000, he was promoted to full- time Chief with Jerome Township.
Chief Skeldon has been a member of the Ohio Fire Chiefs’ Association since 1992, serving as its president from 2005-2006. During his presidency, he successfully negoti- ated the purchase of the Grile Assessment Center. His efforts were instrumental in establishing the quality, written testing standard the assessment center employs today. Chief Skeldon has also been a long-serving member of the conference committee

of Professional Firefighters Fire Chief of the Year Award (2006); Ohio State Firefighters Association-Myron George Distinguished Service Award (2013); and Box 15, Larry Parlett, Central Ohio Distinguished Fire Service Award (2004).
