Powder
Powdered aconite is grayish brown to deep brown; characterized by.
I- Large amount of parenchyma containing starch granules.
2- Very few fragments of spiral, reticulate or pitted vessels; occasional scleried
cells which are rectangular, evenly thickened, with simple pits and large lumen,
100-400 p long and occasional fibers from stem, being very long, with lignified
walls and marked with transverse or oblique slit-like pits.
3- Very numerous starch granules, simple or compound of 2-4 or may be up to 6
components: individual granules, spherical or piano-convex, 3-30 mostly 8-
15 μ in diameter, frequently with central cleft-like hilum and calcium oxalate
crystals.
4- True cork cells are absent.
