Jesus constantly talks of rewards

Matthew 5;11-12 “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely
for My sake. 12 Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven,

Matthew 6:2-4 Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in
the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their

reward. But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, that
your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly.

Matthew 6:16-18 Moreover, when you fast, do not be like the hypocrites, with a sad countenance. For they disfigure
their faces that they may appear to men to be fasting. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. 17 But you,
when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, 18 so that you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to your
Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly

Matthew 6:20 Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves
break in and steal; 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where
thieves do not break in and steal.

Matthew 16:24-27 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and
take up his cross, and follow Me. 25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My
sake will find it. 26 For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a
man give in exchange for his soul? For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then
He will reward each according to his works.
