KATHERINE MECHAM BARNEY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
The Katherine Mecham Barney Elementary project, built for the Queen Creek Unified School District, included the new construction of a 72,378-square-foot elementary school campus located in Queen Creek, AZ. The new campus houses two separate two-story classroom buildings, which house students in kindergarten through sixth grade. The facility includes a smart lab area (STEM), a multipurpose building with administrative offices, and a cafeteria/gymnasium combination space with a stage and music rooms. The elementary school was constructed on a concrete foundation supported by footings and masonry stem walls with a structural frame comprised of CMU block and steel, a metal panel soffit overhang, and a TPO standard roof. The Katherine Mecham Barney Elementary project now provides a 21st century learning environment for the Queen Creek Unified School District.
