CALLAWAY HOUSE AT UNIVERSITY OF OKLAHOMA
The Callaway House project included the new construction of a five-story, 700,786-square-foot student housing facility located at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, OK. The facility supports 388 apartment units and 917 beds. The student housing facility was constructed on a conventional slab-on-grade concrete foundation, a wood structural frame, an exterior of Hardie panel and brick siding, and a single-ply membrane roof. The project featured the demolition of 14 buildings and two pools due to asbestos, and the relocation of a floodplain. The project also featured the construction of three new buildings with courtyards and a five-tiered, 691 space parking garage. This project achieved LEED Silver Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for sustainability and energy efficiency. The Callaway House project now offers an academically oriented residential community for promoting collegiate success.
