BONE STUDENT CENTER AT ILLINOIS STATE UNIVERSITY
The Illinois State University Bone Student Center project involved the complete renovation of 88,987 square feet of existing, occupied space, originally constructed in the 1970’s, as well as three new construction additions— consisting of a loading dock, a two-story teacher’s lounge and a three-story Welcome Center. The new buildings were constructed with a cast-in-place concrete foundation with a steel structural frame, a brick and stone exterior, and an EPDM roof. Extensive site work included a grand stairway and ramp to serve as the University’s new northern gateway to the campus, welcoming students to campus life and collegiate achievement.
