BETTY ENGELSTAD SCHOOL OF HEALTH SCIENCES AT COLLEGE OF SOUTHERN NEVADA
The Betty Engelstad School of Health Sciences project, built for the Nevada State Public Works Division, included the new construction of a 73,079-square- foot educational facility located on the College of Southern Nevada’s campus in Henderson, NV. The building was constructed on a slab-on-grade and slab-on- deck foundation with structural and decorative masonry block and structural steel framing, and membrane roofing. An exterior of fiber cement and ultra high-performance concrete paneling completed the building’s construction. The building systems feature four-pipe hydronic heating and cooling, lab air valve exhaust, biological safety cabinets, fume hoods, and SMART classroom walls. A demonstration garden comprised of regional medicinal plants is located on-site, and the facility features a mix of traditional classrooms, office and nursing suites, microbiology labs, and a two-story library with views of the athletic complex. The Betty Engelstad School of Health Sciences project provides a state-of-the-art facility for the training and collaboration of healthcare professionals in southern Nevada.
