SUMMARY
The objectives of this study are: 1). This is to determine the internal and
external factors involved in the cultivation of koi ornamental fish in the research
area. 2). Analyzing the strategy for the development of ornamental koi fish
farming in the research area.
From the research, the following results were obtained: 1). Internal
factors contained in the koi ornamental fish cultivation business activities include:
The diversity of color types of fish produced, production inputs can be produced
independently, cooperation with traders and own capital, while weakness factors
include: minimal experience, lack of knowledge of techniques Koi fish farming,
koi fish marketing which is still through agents and limited capital. External
factors contained in koi aquaculture business activities, in terms of opportunities
include: types of koi fish that are in demand in the market, the existence of hobby
and lover communities, strategic cultivation locations and technological
developments while threat factors include: fluctuating production input prices,
market trends changes, the entry of other products and disease attacks. 2). The
form of strategy used in the development of koi fish farming in the research area
uses the SO Strategy (Strength and Opportunities). This strategy uses the strength
of the company to overcome threats. The SO strategy uses the company's internal
strengths to avoid or reduce the impact of external threats.
