LONDON, Feb. 27.1935

Following the receipt of news that Mrs. Frencham, was believed to have been murdered by
Chinese bandits at Ningkiang, the "Daily Express" interviewed Mrs. Frencham's parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Wheatley, who live at Burgess Hill, Sussex.

Mr. Wheatley said that his daughter Ruth was aged 29 years. She had boen in China only a
short while when she was taken to hospital for an operation for appendicitis. Mr. Frencham
was in the same hospital for the same operation, and they became friendly during
convalescence. They were married lost year in the cathedral at Shanghai. Later they were sent
to open a new mission station at Ningkiang. His daughter, in her last letter, mentioned that the
bandits were getting close to the station.
