 The tenacity and perseverance of Hong Kong's athletes exemplify the city's "can-do" spirit. The HKSAR Government attaches great importance to supporting athletes, including those with disabilities.
  Sports stars
v Hong Kong cycling athlete Lee Wai-sze won two gold
medals in the Women’s Track Keirin and Sprint at the UCI Track Cycling World Championships
in Poland in March 2019; and the championships Women’s Sprint at the 2019-20 Tissot UCI Track Cycling World Cup Hong Kong;
v Hong Kong’s fencer Vivian Kong Man-wai was the first
Hong Kong fencer to win the World Cup title after her victories in Women’s epee individual event in Cuba and Spain in January and February 2019 respectively. She also attained world number one ranking in March 2019;
  v Hong Kong's top female snooker player Ng On-yee won the
championship in the World Women Snooker Championship 2019 in Turkey and achieved her world
title for the third time;
v Hong Kong’s ice hockey player Yam Yau won the gold medal in
the mixed nation 3-on-3 ice hockey event in the 3rd Winter Youth Olympic Games in 2020.
