Participation in International Book fairs
Frankfurt book fair
Vigyan Prasar was invited as a co-exhibitor with National Book Trust, India, for Frankfurt Book Fair held during 16-20 October 2019. All books, magazine, CDs and activity kits produced by Vigyan Prasar were displayed at the book fair. A series of meetings were scheduled for collaboration, translation, sale, digital version creation and dissemination.
the Guest of Honour nation at the fair, Vigyan Prasar got an opportunity to present India’s scientific advancements on the international platform. Vigyan Prasar organised the science programmes in the India Pavilion which included lectures, talks, conversations and discussions on various scientific topics.
Vigyan Prasar organised demonstrations and scientific experiments to make the students understand the basic concepts in science such as ‘The universe from Big Bang to Future’, ‘400 years of the telescope’, ‘Understanding of Astronomy’, ‘Gender in science’, ‘Science communication in India and Mexico’, ‘Conversation on major scientific discoveries’, and ‘Indian scientists who contributed to global science’.
Vigyan Prasar displayed its major publications in English and Hindi in the science section of the Book Fair, which received a lot of appreciation. Vigyan Prasar translated two of its books titled The Moments in Mathematics and The story of Moon into Spanish which were released at FIL 2019. The books were discussed at the release function as part of the question and answer session. Every session of Vigyan Prasar attracted a huge gathering of students, young people and the general public. The science films of Vigyan Prasar were screened at the Book Fair every day during the Fair. At the end of each film, the officials from Vigyan Prasar responded many questions related to the content of the films from the audience.

India was the Guest of Honour Country at the Guadalajara International Book Fair. Vigyan Prasar was invited to showcase its scientific publications and films. Vigyan Prasar deputed two scientists. They delivered several talks, participated in panel discussions, and interacted with media and visitors, particularly with school students.
