Industry-Academia Conclave
Industry-Academia Conclave sought to build a bridge between Industry and Academia. The job of the academia is to teach the students fundamentals of the subject, make them analyse the practical aspects and provide bright engineers to the industry, who in turn are supposed to increase their efficiency and productivity. However, even with the large number of engineering students graduating from colleges, the industry finds that not many are employable. This conclave was aimed at addressing these issues.
International Science Film Festival of India (ISFFI)
International Science Film Festival of India (ISFFI), was spread across three days from 6 to 8 November at Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI), Kolkata. The event was inaugurated by the chief guest Ms Brigitte Uttar Kornetzky, Environmentalist and Filmmaker, Switzerland; Ambassador for Captive Elephants, FIAPO, India; President, Elefanten in Not/ Elephants in Need-Hilfswerk/ Charity Switzerland-Germany along with Mr Buddhadeb Dasgupta, Prof. Partha Ghose, Mr Kaushik Ganguly, Film Director, Screenwriter and Actor, and Prof. Manoj Kumar Patairiya. The film festival aimed to recognise the contribution of film-makers and motivate them to promote Science and offer an opportunity to students and budding filmmakers to get involved with the process of Science filmmaking.
