Astronomy Workshop for Students and Teachers of Rajasthan
A three-day workshop on Hands-on Activity on Astronomy was organised in association with Birla Planetarium, Jaipur, Rajasthan during 17- 19 December 2019. The workshop was attended by 50 students and teachers representing eight tribal district/blocks of Rajasthan. The hands- on activities were designed on astronomy to
understand the eclipses, transits and other celestial events. The focus of the programme was to encourage the students and teachers to view the annular solar eclipse of 26 December 2019. The solar filters and activity kit to undertake activities built around the eclipse were given to each participant. They were also asked to organise community viewing of eclipse on 26 December using solar filters and other methods which were demonstrated to them.
