Workshop on Use of Puppetry for Science communication (West Bengal)
A workshop on ‘Use of Puppetry for Science Communication’ was organised in Kolkata during 20-24 June 2019. The basic objective of the workshop was to pass on the skill of puppetry to the participants as a tool of science communication in a classroom situation. The workshop was attended by 37 participants from 10 Districts of West Bengal.
The trained resource persons are now using the skill along with mobile troops to communicate science in the Sunderban Delta. More than 25 schools have been reached during the first phase of the programme of 15 days duration, which concluded on 30 January 2020. The second phase of the programme was organised during the March 2020.
MRP training programme in Gujarat
The first training workshop under sub tribal plan of Vigyan Prasar was organised during 20-24 January 2020 at Gujarat Forest Ranger College, Rajpipla in Narmada district on theme ‘Dynamics of nature’. A total of 50 teachers from 15 tribal schools attended the five-day residential training workshop. The workshop was inaugurated on 20 January 2020. To each participant resource material developed by VP in the form of manual and activity kit on Weather and Biodiversity was also given.
