ACCOLADES & RECOGNITION
JNCASR has received numerous accolades and recognition at both national and international levels. The centre has been awarded with Indian Patent Office (IPO) Motivation Award for 2015, National Intellectual Property Awards, in recognition of its significant achievements in the field of patent oriented R&D and IP promotion.
Accredited with NAAC A++ grade JNCASR has received the 4th rank among universities and 11th
in overall category for 2017 in National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranking. Nature Index in 2014 ranked JNCASR 7th among top-ten institutions in India in Indian institutions global standing.
The centre’s standing among the scientific peers
in the country and abroad is well evident from the fact that the faculty members of the centre have been the recipients of several national and international recognitions and acclaims. To name a few: Prof. CNR Rao, Bharat Ratna, holds the singular distinction of being elected Fellow of many of the leading science academies in the world, while having received the Von
Hippel Award for Materials Research, the Dan David Prize; the Queen’s Medal of the Royal Society,
London; the German Chemical Society’s August-
Wilhelm-von-Hoffmann-Denkmünze Medal; the
Order of Friendship, Russia; the India Science Prize; and, a host of other awards. The highly recognized aeronautical scientist, Prof. Roddam Narasimha is
a Fellow of the Royal Society of London; National Science Academy, USA, and recipient of prestigious awards, like the Trieste Science Prize, Italy and the Padma Vibhushan in 2013. Prof MRS Rao has received Padma Shri and Prof. KS Valdiya has received the Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan awards from the Government of India. Other faculty members have also been honoured with highly esteemed prizes such as the Shanti Swaroop Bhatnagar Award, CRSI and MRSI Bronze Medals; DAE Outstanding Research Career Award, BM Birla Prize, FICCI Award for
Life Sciences and The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) prize, National Bioscience Award for cancer development, DBT Government of India, India Reliance Industries Platinum Jubilee Award and the Humboldt Fellowship for senior researchers offered by the Alexander Von Humboldt Foundation. The faculty members have also received fellowships from TWAS, Indian Academy of Sciences (IAS), National Academy of Sciences (NASI), Indian National Science Academy (INSA) and Department of Science and Technology,
