Description and Functionality
The device (kit) enables persons with limited lower limb mobility or lower limb amputees to drive a car independently. In this system, controls are transferred manually by lever/linkage mechanism. The clutch mechanism is actuated by pushing the clutch frame downwards manually. Brake function is controlled manually using the brake lever with middle as well as adjoining finger. Accelerator is operated with forefinger by pressing the accelerator lever downwards.
Stage of Development
The Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) has certified it as suitable for fitting in various cars. Ready for commercialization
