Description and Functionality
Comfor-Table is an adjustable bedside reading table for elderly and for bed ridden patients. The table consists of a geared DC Motor of 12 V and 60 rpm coupled to an acme threaded 14-inch-long screw. The top of the screw is connected to a horizontal pipe fitted to the reading table. A gear system is used to control the angular position of the board so the board can be rotated along the axis and can be fixed in any position (angle) suitable to the eye site of the user. The height of the board can be adjusted by starting the motor. The board can move up or down depending on the direction of rotation of the screw. The board is placed horizontally on a pipe so that it can rotate round its axis through 360 degrees.
