Description and Functionality
e-Saadhya is web based e-Learning framework which is specifically designed for the special and inclusive schools for teaching children with cognitive disabilities. The tool is an integration of standard special educational assessment checklists; individualized education plans (IEP) and lesson plans that are part of special educational practices. The tool enables the special educator or a parent to create Lessons/Exercises that are to be taught to the child. The child can log in to the framework via an “Individual Learning Environment” and work on lessons and exercises. The Individual Learning Environment is embedded with cognitive accessibility features which are in line with the standards defined by World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). Cognitive accessibility features include clutter free screens, voice based navigational/guidance mechanisms, customizable responding pace, adjustable font sizes etc.

e-Saadhya is an Indigenous solution, where Indian Special Educational methodology is integrated with the aspects of e-Learning to arrive at a framework that suits the needs of every special school in India. Adaptation of Special education strategy, Applied Behavioral Analysis – Discrete Trial Training into the content creation framework is uniqueness of e-Saadhya.
