Why was he attracted to this type of problems? We do not know! But it looks beautiful. It is compact (as in the example stated earlier) yet gives infinite solutions.
But this beauty, compactness and infinite answers in its womb (Continued Fraction) is denied to our students and it is not included in our text books. Our teachers and students are exposed to mathematics that are provided in the text books only. This restricts them in appreciate Ramanujan’s talent which indeed is a tragedy!
We need not go in search of problems for Continued Fractions. They are everywhere. Again the story goes like this:

Fold a Right angle Triangle
Fold the remaining paper up
