One of the biggest negatives to extruded netting is that it is very difficult
to dispose of. It will pop back out of the dumpster and has a bad habit of
getting tangled in the forklift wheels.
Elastinet has snap back properties which helps to hold the load more
securely on the pallet. This netting offers good load containment and should
be applied by a stretch machine in order to get the rubber band properties
on the load.
While choosing the right film or netting is somewhat specific to the product being wrapped, and the
machine being used; it can be as simple as just replacing your 20" film with a 10" film and keep the machine
running the same cycle. The use of narrower film rolls allow for uncovered areas on the load to breathe
while still giving load containment. Some of the netting products being sold cannot hold the load together
as well as regular stretch film, even if it is not 100% coverage.
There are a number of stretch machines that can accomidate netting of
various types, and some net products can be used on your regular stretch
machine. Wulftec makes a good value machine that can be used to apply
netting or pre-stretched hand wrap at a low starting cost. Here is a link to
see the video. Pricing is $ 4,195.00 WVL-075 (Click to view video )
If you have products that need to breathe, we would be happy to try to answer any specific questions you
may have about your application. Keep in mind that it is always more expensive to wrap with netting type
products than it is to wrap with stretch film. Netting is not a cost reduction product, it is a solution to a
problem....condensation.
