o How do living things pass anything

                                            They do this through

                                                                 REPRODUCTION.




                The information is carried as a code, called

                DNA. Unless the code is changed, it makes

                no difference at all what happens to the

                carrier.






                     For example, imagine a boy with a bottle.


                 In the bottle is a sheet of paper, and on that

                                                                 paper 1s a recipe
                                                                                            ■
                                                                              ■
                                                                 for making a cake.



                                                                 One fine day, the boy

                                                                 sets off on a journey,

                                                                 to give the recipe to

                                                                 someone else.






                                                 Tum te tum,
                                                 off I go ...
