President’s Report
Dear Members, fellow
Showmen and friends,
With the commencement of the capital
season in full swing, both Brisbane and
Adelaide have achieved remarkable success.
Additionally, we cannot overlook the
enthusiastic crowds that attended the
Gold Coast Show.
This is a Show that is run in council-
controlled Parkland, not at a Showground.
The Show Society are totally reliant on their own publicity, our publicity,
social media and good weather to attract a crowd.
We were lucky enough to have all of the above, in attendance -
From all accounts from our members, the 2025 Gold Coast Show
was a blistering success!
It is imperative that we reflect on the essential factors that contribute
to the success of each and every one of our shows. Our dedicated
Committee members and show societies, who tirelessly ensure the
seamless operation of every aspect of the event, deserve our utmost
gratitude. Their unwavering commitment and dedication are the
lifeblood of our shows.
On a more light-hearted note, we have witnessed several birthday
celebrations, with Ted Trevors’ 90th birthday being a particularly
notable occasion. This achievement should not be overlooked,
and we extend our heartfelt wishes for many more memorable
celebrations to come.
As always, I extend my best wishes for safe travels and the continued
attendance of record crowds to each and every show we attend”
