The winter wet has been in full force
for the past two months with rainfall
exceeding records for the past 20 years.
This situation has hampered our efforts to earn a living at the various
festivals and markets our members have been trading at, with
earnings well down on previous years.
The spring showrun has started and we are well into the run of shows,
with the weather still wet wet wet.
Our annual general meeting was held in July, and we welcomed a new
member to our rank’s, Anthony Todd who has applied for the last 8
years and was successful this year.
SafeWork SA are still the government watchdog who are ever present,
over our shoulder, and it seems like there is a revolving door at their
office with never the same face coming to audit us, and a new version
of what they require for each new inspector.
The capital show season is upon us and hopefully the patrons
attending will support our showmen, as there are a lot of variables and
expenses that go along with the big events, so best wishes to those
showmen.
