THE SHOWMEN’S GUILD OF SOUTH AUSTRALIA
Hello to all Showmen, Show Societies and Friends within our Industry.
The summer carnivals have now ended and the autumn show run in full swing and by all reports the summer carnivals held up despite the run of incredibly hot weather the southern states have endured.
On a sad note we farewelled one of our long serving executive in Michael Allen.
Michael served the Guild as a Committee member from 1981 to 2006, then progressed to Vice President from 2006 to 2012, then stepped aside as his daughter Tamara took over that position he finished his time on the executive as an auditor.
He was a valued, productive Guild man who took part in many delegations over the years and will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all the members.
Safework SA are in reorganise mode at the moment and even though they are not as prevalent in our weekly events at the moment we are sure that won’t be the status quo for long.
I will report more in a later issue of The Outdoor Showman, when we know what transpires.
