Dear Members, Showmen and Show Societies,
It has been a very interesting time for ALL of us in 2020, and one we won’t forget anytime soon.
As well as dealing with the Covid-19 national disaster, we have had to deal with the very sad passing of Kellie Miller as well as long-time office Administrator, Sue Pfuhl.
On a positive note, we have two new office members, Sandi Gordon & Katherine Millsom. They are “finding their feet”, so to speak, very nicely.
They will tell you a bit about themselves on page 11.
In regards to Covid-19, the second wave of the virus has been very damaging Australia wide, with all the new restrictions. We must be vigilant an get ourselves in working order so when the time arrives, we are prepared and ready to go ! Please make a Covid safe plan for your individual operation and have it ready to use. Some smaller “Carnival style” events have been run around Queensland under Covid safe plans.These have been successful, so that should build confidence amongst us all.
The SGA is reaching out to all Show Societies to get dates for 2021 so we can all get back on track as soon as possible.
Our Annual General Meeting of Members is due to be held in March 2021, at a venue to be confirmed.
To all members and friends please hang in there, and when the time is right, we will all be together doing what we love; Bigger and stronger!
