To support show members from rural and regional Australia attend the conference, Next Gen also created and coordinated the Conference Travel Subsidy.
“Our committee drove this initiative to support shows that have been affected by sustained drought conditions and give back to members who continue to support their local communities through tough times,” Brianna said.
Showing off Queensland talent
The Queensland Shows Awards (QSAs) initiative was launched by the Next Gen Committee in 2016.
The QSAs have celebrated 19 new
and innovative events, 19 passionate emerging leaders and 31 individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to their shows and communities.
“The QSAs provide an opportunity
to acknowledge those societies and individuals whose tremendous efforts and innovative ideas embody what the agricultural show movement represents,” Brianna said.
“We strongly encourage you to reflect on your own show members and consider submitting a nomination to acknowledge their commitment and contribution to your society and show.”
The 2020 Gala Dinner will be held on Saturday 14 March in conjunction with the Queensland Ag Shows AGM in Rockhampton.
