2023 is cause for big celebration.
Here we are again, at the start of the Northern Territory and Queensland run of shows.
By all accounts the shows have been quite successful since our last report.
I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the Show Societies that are celebrating their 150 years and still going strong. This is a wonderful achievement.
Blackall Show, Dubbo and Ipswich Shows were on the same weekend in May and Rockhampton Show is gearing up, and very excited to celebrate its 150th Show in June.
I would like to congratulate all of our new members for 2023. It was great to see so much interest and looking forward to seeing you all at the Shows.
Easter all round was very successful and well patronised by all accounts.
From the Royal Easter show to traditional events over the period across the states.
In Queensland the Ipswich Show had its 150th Show with huge success and record crowds, as well as Brookfield and Gympie after very wet shows in 2022 so things are looking up.
In New South Wales, Hawkesbury had great crowds and lots of support.
The Dubbo Show celebrated 150 years with great crowds and big celebrations. The run is challenging with the cold weather but the community still supports their show and it’s great to see.
The western Queensland run was well supported and good crowds.
We are still struggling to get equipment to our smaller shows in all states which is of huge concern. If you are not attending shows you have space at, please communicate with the office so we can try to get equipment to support the smaller communities.
