Celebrating 150 years
 Three Days in May... a fitting title
local writer Jen Cowley OAM to publish a book featuring stories from people who have been involved in the show over the years and pen some key moments.
150 years of memories of the Dubbo Show Society has been documented in the book “Three Days in May” which celebrates and commentates the people and stories that have been shared for the past 150 years.
Having grown from small beginnings to become one of the major agricultural shows in NSW and is currently recognised as one of the top five shows in the state.
President, Mr Wes Temmesl says “Dubbo Show is an important event for our community. It is socially, culturally and economically significant. The Dubbo community is a great support of our show, and we could not run this important event without the generous support of our sponsors.”
This year’s annual show was officially opened by Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley,
May 19th, 20th and 21st saw the Dubbo Show celebrate its 150th year since the Show Society was formed in 1872. Just over a year later, the first Dubbo Show took
place at the racecourse, before moving to its forever home at the showground in 1885.
