Welcome to 2021!
I am pleased to see many of our AgShows going ahead in 2021. Already a number of Shows around the country have successfully run
a COVID safe event and we look forward to many more as the year progresses.
Recently ASA streamed some live facebook videos at Stanthorpe Show giving you an insight into aspects of the show where COVID safety measures were implemented successfully.
Head over to our facebook page to view these useful videos. We certainly will be sharing more when we are out and about at shows in the coming weeks.
Round one of the Federal Government’s Supporting Ag
Shows and Field Day Program has concluded, with the processing of all 378 successful Agricultural Shows Grants.
Visit the website to view the round one grant recipients by state.

Invitations to submit a supplementary claim under the Supporting Agricultural Shows
and Field Days Program were extended to eligible agricultural shows and field days via email on
8 February 2020 by the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment.
Grantees that did not utilise the maximum grant amount have been invited to submit a supplementary expense claim for the period
1 July 2019 to 31 December 2020 to claim any additional eligible expenditure not included in their initial application. Eligible shows will have until 19 February 2021 to provide supplementary claim documentation.
We are continuing discussions with Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment around any remaining funds after the conclusion of the supplementary expense
claim period.
The $20M Regional Agricultural Show Development Grants, a Federal Government two-year program will be finishing in June 2021. We are seeking short (30
-40 sec) videos showing us the end-result of this important infrastructure grant so we can share with the Federal Government the positive impact grants of this nature have on multiple users within the community. To arrange how to send through your short video please contact the Executive Officer through email: execofficer@ agshowsaustralia.org.au
Included in this edition of The Ring is our newsletter policy and timeline document with submission dates for the year. We are always interested in hearing from our members around anything exciting happening at
their show eg a milestone year, a significant recognition of a volunteer or a prominent person opening your show.
Regards
Dr Rob Wilson
Chair, Agricultural Shows of Australia.
