                                           What a year!
A big thank you to all AALARA Members and associates for making 2018 one to remember and paving the way for an even safer and better industry across the globe.
Here are just a few AALARA highlights from 2018:
• Under the leadership of our current president, Dax Eddy of Jamberoo Action Park, AALARA has continued to grow to be one of the industry’s most respected point of contacts. We have continued to assist our membership, and often transportable non-members in time of need, with support in varying forms. The AALARA HQ, or one of its Board Members, is often the first point of contact when a travelling showman has an accident, incident or query. We are always happy to assist, to guide and help them through these situations, as a gesture of good will and for the good of the industry
• AALARA had key representation at the Qld Government Safety Forum, for both Theme Parks and Transportable Operators, working with all to come up with a solution that is workable for both the industry and Government
• AALARA’s 24th annual Conference was a huge success on a number of fronts. Well attended across all sectors of the industry, we welcomed international and local VIP guests to make AALARA18 one for the record books and the foundation for positive change for our industry.
• AALARA has been working closely with ASTM, members of EN, and Australian Standards, towards a transition from AS3533 to an Australian ASTM style standard, this included sessions at the AALARA Conference which was attended by invited ASTM members,Ben Sheldon (ASTM),Katerina Koperno (ASTM),Andreas Andersen (IAAPA), Cindy Sypher (Canadian ASTM Standards), Joe Van Dam (Disney), Steve Boney (Mauer), Kevin Russell (Hershey Park), Randy Davis (IAAPA), Hal McEvoy (IAAPA CEO), all of whom are helping to guide us towards a true, harmonised, global standard for Australia. AALARA would like to thank them for their commitment, to both Australian Theme Parks and Transportables Industries.
• AALARA has also had representation at most ASTM international sessions and all IAAPA Global Harmonisation sessions
• Working with regulators to help educate and encourage more engineers into the industry
• Working with insurers to help with the engineers professional indemnity issues
I think you’ll agree, there’s a lot of work going on behind the scenes for our industry, so thank you to all those involved!
If you are in the market for a new ride or supplier, be sure to get in touch with AALARA as it might prove beneficial for your manufacturer to exhibit at AALARA19, and be advantageous for you as a result!
There are still booths and sponsorship packages available for AALARA19.
If you’d like exposure to the key decision makers in your industry, this is your only chance in Australia for the next two years, so we urge you to get in touch by December 31 2018 and make the most of our limited early bird offer for trade show booths.
So, once again, thank you to all AALARA Members for supporting your industry!
We are looking forward to seeing you all at AALARA 2019 Conference & Trade Show!
