This summer program is open to children entering
Barnstormers Theater Camp
Grades 9 to 12
“Remember your  rst day of school? Your  rst date? The time your dog ran away or when your best friend suddenly wasn’t your best friend anymore? Memories, whether good, bad or painful, make us who we are. When a group of high school drama students is given the assignment to share their memories, the result is an eclectic collection of hilarious, heartfelt, serious, intense and inspiring scenes. From an improbable  rst date to a candlelight service for a departed friend. From selling Girl Scout cookies to dealing with divorce to learning the art of baseball.” This summer, Lakewood High school’s Barnstormers Drama Club high are premiering their very  rst theater camp. We will be producing the show Rememberin’ Stuff, by BY ELEANOR HARDER.
This exciting camp will be lead by LHS’s own Mr. Farinelli and Ms. Sabin. Be a part of the cast and crew. We will learn about acting theory, costumes, makeup, and set. You will be a par t of ever y aspect of the show. Signup, tryouts will be in June. You’ll be assigned your role, and come July you will be ready with your lines memorized. Class Min 20

kindergarten in the fall and features an actual town setup, complete with streets, crosswalks, stop signs and traf c signals that will help prepare children for school. Music, crafts and visits from community helpers such as police and  re ghters will help reinforce the valuable safety lessons. Concludes with a parent/family visitation day. Class limit 25.

Summer Jazz Jam
The Summer Jazz Jam’s purpose is to provide a unique experience for middle and high school students through the tutelage of Matthew Bott, bandleader of Mojo: The Generations Big Band and his colleague, Chris Anderson, with the administrative and teaching assistance of Brian Griebel, retired band director at Harding Middle School. The students will focus mainly on improvisation, but will also learn about the history of jazz, music theory, and will perform in a large ensemble.The culminating performance will be June 21 at 1:00 p.m. in the Harding Middle School cafetorium. All skill levels welcome. from grade 6 to 12. Class limit 50.

Ohio Heritage
Children will step back in time to become children of the 1800’s. By learning to cook, experiencing pioneer school, playing historic games, and working on exciting crafts, participants will have fun learning how Ohio early settlers lived. The Old Stone House, located in Lakewood Park, will be used daily through the courtesy of the Lakewood Historical Society and Stone House Society volunteers. This program is for students who are going into third, fourth or  fth grades as well as sixth graders who have not participated in Ohio Heritage before. Class Min 15/Max 30.

Skateboard Camp
Summer Reading Camp
The Summer Reading Camp is designed for children who are entering grades K and 1 in the fall. Students will have an opportunity to participate in a variety of activities that help develop reading skills. The lessons will be designed to offer experiences to improve reading and comprehension abilities through high-energy, low stress, fun- lled activites. Class limit 36. Camp is held in three-week sessions.
Learn to skateboard and meet new friends! Skateboard Camps teach new skaters how to skateboard, how to take care of their skateboard and basic skatepark etiquette. You will learn
the proper ways to push, turn and start and stop safely as well as how to fall with minimal impact. Each skater progresses at their own rate in a group setting with mostly ages 7-11 years old. Camp is operated by Public Square Group Skate Counselors with a 1 to 4 ratio of counselors to skaters. All ages over 7 years are welcome! Your skateboard should roll and turn easily. Good bearings and quality trucks will make learning much easier. Skateboard/bmx style helmet that covers the back of the skater’s head (not a cycling helmet). Wrist guards are strongly encouraged as are knee and elbow pads but not required. More info at www.PublicSquareGroup.org Class limit 12.
