Tubelite History
Tubelite has been in the sign and electrical industry for 90 years and have the
knowledge to make your business a success.
Tubelite traces its history back to 1928 when Samuel C. Miller, an engineer and
inventor, started Tube Light Engineering Company in New York to manufacture
electrodes for neon signs. Mr. Miller received patents for his inventions of
housings and porcelain insulators used with neon tubes.
After World War II, Mr. Miller formed a partnership with Edward R. Samuels
and Lewis M. Bradley. In 1964, the partnership was incorporated. Under the
control of Leon H. Jaffe and Edwin H. McCarter, the company expanded beyond
its neon roots, becoming one of the largest distribution companies for the sign,
screen printing, digital imaging and window film industries.
Today, Tubelite currently serves major markets in the United States from ten
full-service distribution centers: Orlando, Miami, Birmingham, Charlotte,
New York / New Jersey, Philadelphia, Columbus, Indianapolis, Memphis and
Phoenix, as well as servicing international markets in Mexico, Central America,
Caribbean and South America.
