A Letter…
Dear Western Cape Education Department
I am writing this letter on behalf of myself, our class and our school to share why we
should win this competition and the AWESOME e-resources.
The resources would really help us to learn even during lockdown or weekends when our
school is closed.
We will be able to explore a number of learning apps and this might even inspire us to
create or design our very own! How cool would that be!
My class teacher taught us a new word – COLLABORATE which means “working together”
and this is exactly what we did during lockdown. We worked together to solve problems,
to learn new concepts and to complete our tasks that our teachers gave us. I remember
how much fun this was, even though we were apart.
In our Google Classes, our teachers gave us some really cool activities such as audio and
flip books as the libraries were all closed and there were also digital crossword puzzles
and word searches that they created using all the free trials of Bookwidgets. It really
made our learning such fun!
These different activities served the individual needs of our class because we don’t all
learn in the same way. Some kids loved the interesting videos, others the fun and clever
games and some, like myself, the logical thinking puzzles. Even some of my friends who
usually struggle to learn, enjoyed learning online.
It will be fantastic if our school wins this competition and the e-resources as it will give
our teachers a better chance to make learning more fun and experiment with new
methods to teach us, learning new digital skills instead of remaining “Tech-dinosaurs”.
Kind regards
