Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze teaching Arabic for special purposes from the perspective of
Rushdi Ahmed Tuaima at Dar Al-Huda Al-Islami Tabung Institute. This research uses a
descriptive qualitative approach. The data is collected from interviews and documents. The
collected data is analyzed using the descriptive analytical technique. Data reduction, data
presentation and conclusion are also implemented to facilitate the interpretation of the analysis
results. The results of this research indicate that teaching the Arabic language in this institute is
for a religious purpose, because learning it aims to gain students’ understanding and deepen their
knowledge of religious sciences, while being limited to the skill of reading, and because the
process of teaching the Arabic language in this institute conforms to 14 standards for special
purposes. It is possible that we include the method of teaching the Arabic language in this
institute within the teaching of the Arabic language for special academic purposes, as Rushdi
Ahmed Toaimah explained, stating that students study specialized subjects to study Islamic
sciences in the Arabic language.
