Follow in the footsteps of Russell and his faithful dog, Dug, from the Disney•Pixar film Up! Jaunt across
jungles, furrow into forests and make way through the woods while you set out on a series of fact-finding
challenges.

Get Started
Grab a field guide from headquarters located on the bridge between the Oasis and Discovery Island or
drop by Wilderness Explorer stops in Africa, Rafiki’s Planet Watch, Asia and Dinoland U.S.A. to pick one
up there.
Complete the animal activities on your own, or take on each nature-based task as a group.
Collect over 30 badges as you complete challenges throughout the park.
• Veterinary Badge – Help diagnose a sea turtle’s health issue
• Dinosaur Badge – Join in the exploration for dinosaur fossils
• Animal Find Badge – Check off each of the animals you see
• Music Badge – Learn how to play an African drum pattern
• Yeti Badge – Find Yeti artifacts and hear about the folklore
The Process
The Wilderness Explorers program at Disney's Animal Kingdom offers a variety of badges that guests can
earn while learning about conservation, wildlife, and culture: endangered species, fossils, and recycling
To become a Wilderness Explorer, guests can:
1. Go to the Wilderness Explorers Headquarters at the end of the bridge on Discovery Island
2. Receive a handbook and their first badge
3. Look for Wilderness Explorer cast members stationed throughout the park
4. Visit a station to learn about a specific topic and earn a sticker
