condition will make the weathering of soil minerals and the decomposition of
organic matters to occur faster and release more elements available to plants.
Both processes (weathering of soil minerals and organic matter
decomposition) supply nutrient elements from the two main sources of plant
nutrients in the soil system (Fig. 1.1). Depending on the various internal factors of
these sources, the release of nutrient elements may be regulated by manipulating
one or several external factors. In this relation, the role of organic matters is of
great importance bacause this soil solid is an accumulation of various plant
nutrients which are mostly originated from the soil solids. Therefore, organic
matters are very important to preserve the soil sustainability in supplying nutrient
elements in the soil system, particularly from the soil internal sources. By returning
organic matters into the soils from which they are originated, the supplies of
nutrient elements of soil internal and external sources may be significantly
enhanced.
