Among the two or three companies you might contact is Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, which
sells Medigap policies in California and most other states. She should be able to get a policy for
$75 a month ($900 a year) or slightly less.
After 2019, the high-deductible Plan F will no longer be sold, although people who already have
that plan may keep it. Next year the high-deductible version of Plan F will be replaced by the
high-deductible version of Plan G, which is slightly less comprehensive but which will have
lower premiums. A year from now we can see if she can save money by switching to High
Deductible Plan G.
