                   5.1 Definition of Tender Document

A tender document is a document that contains all the information required by the
contractor to assess the proposed project and subsequently makes an offer. A tender is
a submission made by a prospective supplier in response to an invitation to tender. It

makes an offer for the supply of goods or services. Tender documents are prepared to
                   seek tenders (offers).

Generally, tendering refers to the suppliers required to complete construction
works, rather than the process of selecting consultancy services which is commonly
                   referred to as appointment.

Tender documents may be prepared for a range of contracts, such as equipment
supply, the main construction contract (including design by the contractor), demolition,

                   enabling works, etc.
The function of this document is tenderers know about the project clearly and
give to them to fill in the rates.

Tender documents must be provided for projects worth more than RM50,000.00
and table tender documents are also provided.
It is divided into two (2) types:

 Tender document based on Bill of Quantities
 Tender document based on drawing and specification
