PREFACE

This module is written primarily for students on quantity surveying undergraduate
courses to assist them to understand the professionalism of Quantity Surveyor. This module set
out theory and techniques of Quantity Surveyor practice in the construction industry.

This module has 6 chapters, which cover the fundamentals topics in practices of
Quantity Surveyor. Although it does contain necessary information required to face

examination especially for polytechnic students as well as those pursuing diploma in Quantity
Surveying.

Together the books provide essential reading for all students aspiring to understand
professional practice of Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry. The student is therefore
urged to consult all other possible sources of reference to obtain a full and thorough
understanding of subject of professional practice for Quantity Surveyor.
