ing them with the light of the Sun of Righteousness, whose ris-

Conclusion
God’s skies are friendly skies. He made the sun, moon, and
stars. If some people have perverted these into false religions,
such as astrology, this need not cause Christians any alarm.
When we view the skies through new eyes, we are free to learn
the constellations as Biblical symbols and become at home in the
night sky.
I wish to stress one point that has emerged from our survey
of astral symbolism. We have seen that the expression “stars of
the heavens” and “powers of the heavens” often refer to human
governors. This means that the expression “heaven and earth”
can sometimes refer to the body politic. The expression “new
heavens and new earth,” while it can refer to a transfigured
cosmos, can also refer to a new order on the earth: new rulers
and new people. We shall come back to this in the latter part of
this book, when we examine the succession of worlds in the Bible.
