 WHERE
Snowy Wilderness is located 90km south- west of Cooma, NSW.
From Cooma, head west on the Snowy Mountain Highway (#18) for 61km. At Jindabyne, turn south on the Barry Way. Travel 27km on a sealed road (it later becomes unsealed). Continue for 2km. Coordinates for the Snowy Wilderness gate: S36°37’14” E148°29’47”.
 WHAT TO DO
Book your tagalong tour in advance for tracks within the Snowy Wilderness property itself. The tracks are rated from easy to very challenging depending on what you request, and range from two hours to two days. High clearance 4X4 essential.
For 4X4 activities on return trip:
continue south on Barry Way then the Snowy River Road to Buchan and connect with Princes Highway.
Continue south on the Barry Way to McKillops Road, turn west for a wild ride to McKillops Bridge then on to Bonang Road with access to Orbost or Bombala.
From Jindabyne take the Alpine Way for camping and driving at Tom Groggin; the Alpine Way connects back to the Snowy Mountains Highway.
 ACCOMMODATION
Book accommodation, meals and tours in advance. Mid-spring to mid-autumn is the warmest time of year, though the property is open all year. Ring from Jindabyne to advise the staff you are on your way. If towing a caravan, leave it in Jindabyne.
Four private campgrounds accommodating up to ten people each with shelter, cots for swags, fire pit, benches, water, dunny, bush shower. BYO swag (or rent), sleeping bag, gas stove and other camping gear. Off-road camper trailers and tents allowed.There is a stone cottage and a homestead available to rent. Meals can be provided or you can BYO; the nearest suppliers of fuel and food are in Cooma, Berridale or Jindabyne.
 ACTIVITIES
Guided tours include: horse riding, quad bikes, fly-fishing, night tours, bushwalking and 4X4 tagalongs.
