Autocorrect
By Marley Claeys
My phone no longer tries to correct your name. It has learned each letter,
Just as I learned each curve of your frame, And accepts it as a word.
But while the screen now embraces you,
I cannot accept you.
The space where your name used to fit in my mouth, Just between my teeth and my tongue,
Is filled with your lies
And broken promises,
Sharp like shattered glass.
The fractals carve into my anguished tongue.
I will slice it again a thousand times,
Saying your name like a prayer.
