 with the walls above. Every ledge and bend, every nook and steppingstone, the endless expanse of Cohab beckoned me on. This place was a mystery waiting to be solved. An adventure waiting to be explored. And it was as if it waited just for me.
Capitol Reef will always hold a spe- cial place in my heart for a myriad of rea- sons, but the part that really grasped me was the emptiness of it all. The park was often empty in the way that it remained unmarred by humanity. But more than that it was empty in a way that seemed to call out to me alone. It wasn’t just a place that
touched on every comfort and sparked every curiosity. It was an expanse that I could explore for me, and for no one else. The ad- venture was mine. That’s what beckoned me onward then and what tugs at the edges of my mind and the strings of my heart even now.
