  WORK DONE FOR BUSINESS THROUGH COVID-19 PANDEMIC
 •The Chamber built a COVID-19 webpage where all information, resources, and business assistance links where located and updated daily. Information on all business assistance loans, grants, and opportunities plus unemployment for their workers was paramount. Constantly keeping businesses informed on updates, options, and bank information to help
them survive the impacts.
•The Chamber quickly created a comprehensive restaurant take-out list and promoted that people support all (members and non-members alike) who were open.
•The Chamber conducted a huge social media effort to keep members and citizens informed.
•The Chamber created the “Closed, but Still Awesome” signs for businesses to use (free) and the Helena Strong stickers (free).
•The Chamber conducted many town hall meetings with Governor Bullock, Congressman Gianforte, Senator Daines and gave members information on other
organizations Zoom meeting opportunities.
•The Chamber participated in the $50 by 5 Program with Montana Radio Co. to encourage a boost to local businesses.
•The Chamber staff reached out to hundreds of members to see if they needed help or assistance.
•The Chamber worked on many issues impacting business with the elected officials, local health department, and other agencies to keep commerce moving the best it could.
•The Chamber created a Business Reopening Tool Kit to help local businesses plan a safe reopening and do an online check-up on itself.
Specific advocacy efforts of note:
a. Determining “essential or non-essential” status for businesses.
b. Ensurance that all business types were eligible for disaster funding.
c. Restaurant closures – opening of drive-thru and curbside.
d. Re-opening of L&C County campgrounds when health dept. closed them (with
neighboring counties campgrounds open).
e. Opening of Bars and Casinos when left closed & restaurants were opened. f. Opening of bar seating in restaurants/bars with social distancing option.
