I can’t name the county seat of Granite, but I can remember how Mr. Elder made a concoction of Emergen-C for me on our flight back from Belize. Mr. Elder’s influence on my education expands far beyond the classroom. He taught me how to navigate and respect foreign cultures and how to appreciate and discover the beauty that can be found in the world. He was the first person to jump in with me when we swam with sharks and will be someone I can count on with or without shark danger.
