DENTAL RESOURCE PROGRAM
Prevention & Education
Tooth decay is mostly preventable, yet it is still the most common chronic disease among America’s youth. That’s why education is such an important part of our mission. In addition to the resources provided to hundreds of partners across the US through our Health Education Resources and Outreach (HERO) Program (see page 11,) we also provide valuable resources to the safety-net dental clinics that participate in our Dental Resource Program. These resources can include printed educational materials, ToothFairy 101® Community Education Kits (shown right,) dental hygiene supplies, and support for community outreach events like free screenings and health fairs.
In 2024* Dental Resource Program members reached more than 200,000 kids—an average of more than 5,000 kids per clinic. Nearly all of our members saw a significant increase in the number of children who learned about oral health this year including The Los Angeles Trust for Children’s Health (The L.A. Trust) who experienced a 461% increase over the previous year. The L.A. Trust serves as the primary coordinator of school-based services in Los Angeles, providing education, organizing screening events, and maintaining local dental provider referral lists for tens of thousands of students each year.
“Product donations from America’s ToothFairy significantly impact our mission of bringing health and education to achieve student wellness,” Anna Baum, Director of Development and Communications for The L.A. Trust told us. “We had students who were thrilled to receive their own toothbrushes. America’s ToothFairy helps us fulfill our mission and directly improve student oral health.”
This year, we are proud to partner with 54 safety-net dental clinics and nonprofit organizations in 22 states to increase access to dental care and oral health education for hundreds of thousands of kids across the US!
*Our 2024 fiscal year ran from July 1, 2023—June 30, 2024.
“The educational materials we’ve received help us build trusting, compassionate relationships with kids and their parents.”
