Follow-Up
The Douglas County Elk’s Lodge Chili Cook O on Sun., February 11th was a great time to get face-to-face with other members and Lodges. Approximately 100 people members community friends attended. Several other Lodges were represented, Deer Trail, Englewood, Colorado Springs, etc. Everyone enjoyed themselves tasting wonderful Chili recipes, various desserts, along with sodas and water.
We had 14 Chili’s entered and 3 winners were chosen. Third Place went to Ed Grillo. Second Place went to Julia Yoder. First Place went to Helen Buehrle. Winner of rst place is required to wear the chef’s hat to all meetings and functions they attend for the next year. We had between 65-70 votes from Chili Hounds.
All the silent auction items were sold, one members wife needs to work another year or longer after her purchases. unfortunately, I do not believe any of us took pictures of the items. If someone did please send them to Alberta Saran, alberta.saran@att.net, or Willis Buehrle, myhomein- spector1@comcast.net. Please feel free to send any other pictures you may have from the Chili Cook-O .
THAnK YOu, THAnK YOu to all of the Social Committee members and all the other members who volunteered to make the First Chili Cook-O a great success! We’re already looking forward to next year’s.
